SelectingSuper announces 2014 award finalists

SelectingSuper has announced the finalists for the 2014 Fund, Product and self managed superannuation administrator of the year awards being held in Melbourne on 21 November 2014.

The awards are supported by one of the leading insurers to Australian super funds, MetLife, and span 15 divisions including Fund of the year, MySyper product of the year, long term performance, SMSF administrator of the year, and within the workplace, personal and retirement segments awards for best value-choice, deluxe-choice and premium-choice products.

There will also be awards to acknowledge innovation in the superannuation sector as well as a service award for an individual who has made a mark on the superannuation sector.

There are 66 superannuation products from 34 organisations that have qualified as finalists including eight organisations that have qualified for the first time.

Christopher Page, managing director of Rainmaker, the research partner of SelectingSuper, said: "The awards are a great opportunity to celebrate the best and most innovative aspects of superannuation.

"Many of the newer entrants coming into the awards reckoning this year being boutique super fund groups also reminds us being innovative and outperforming isn't just the preserve of the biggest most resourced funds either because what happens on the scoreboard is always more important."

Page said the superannuation sector, as a result of MySuper and the FOFA reforms, is going through its most innovative period ever and that will be the theme of this year's awards breakfast.
