Overview:

More people in health and community services choose HESTA than any other fund - we are the largest fund in Australia dedicated to this industry. Our members included people working in aged care, private hospitals, public hospitals, community services, disability services, primary health care and early childhood education and care sectors.

 

We have more than 700,000 members, 95,000 employees and $17 billion in assets. This means we are one of Australia's largest industry super funds. Our size means we can keep our fees low and povide education and advice to members about their super, at no extra cost.

 

With offices for each Australian state and territory, we are a truly national fund. Our service team includes Client Relationship Managers, Member Education Managers, and Superannuation Advisers who support our members and employers throughout Australia

 

We exist solely to benefit members. Because we don't pay commissions to financial advisers, more of our members' money stay invested to their future. We provide members with access to valuable extra services including low-cost insurance and advice about super.

 

With HESTA, your super is in safe hands. The Trustee of HESTA Super Fund is H.E.S.T Australia Limited (HESTA). Founded in 1987, our board of 14 Directors is made up of equal numbers appointed by health and community service industry employer and employee organisations. We also use more than 70 professional investment managers who are monitored by our asset consultant, in conjunction with our Executive Manager - Investments and Governance and the HESTA board.

Socially responsible investing - HESTA's Eco Pool option is made up of investments that are chosen and managed according to specific environment, sustainability and governance criteria. Under HESTA's ESG policy, managers of other investment options are also expected to consider labour standard and ESG factors when evaluating the companies we invest in on your behalf.

Choose your level of involvement - our investment options cover low, medium and higher risk strategies, and you can choose to have more or less involvement in your investments.

  Objectives

Ready-Made Investment Pools

Conservative Pool

This is our most conservative investment pool, aiming to provide stable returns slightly greater than those achieved by investing in cash alone.

Core Pool

This is our balanced option, aiming to optimise long-term returns while achieving short-term returns better than the 90-day bank bill rate (adjusted for tax).

Shares Plus

This option aims to provide higher long-term returns than the Core Pool. It invests in a diversified portfolio that includes growth assets other than shares.

Eco Pool

Our socially responsible investment option aims to optimise long-term returns while investing in companies and property that demonstrate best practice environmental / sustainability performance within their industry sector, relative to their peers.

We support a range of activities that recognise and promoste the importance of your work. We work with key organisations to present awards to Australia's top nurses, early childhood educators and people working inaged care and primary health care. HESTA membersip gives you access to member education and advice and we have a Super Income Stream product if you are transitioning to retirement or fully retired. Member communications include annual statements, half-yearly record of contributions, bi-annual member magazine and a comprehensive website that provides access to calculators and publications 

Employer communications include monthly contributions advices and payment summaries, bi-annual employer magazine, monthly newsletters and a comprehensive website that provides access to publications and other information to assist employers in super administration

Employer services:

Employers can maker super contributions online, access assistance to help solve admininstrative issues, can gain access to a clearing house service and will receive regular updates from HESTA. FEES

Management Cost - investment fee (% p.a.)

e.g. 0.70% for Core Pool for 2000/2010 (excludes performance fee)

Management Cost - member fee ($ per week / annum)

$1.25 per week, plus 0.1% Trustee operating fee (i.e. $1 p.a. for every $1,000 invested) applied to investment values before declaring interest rates.
